The Travel Girls Getaways Bali Retreat is applicable to anyone who wants to start any kind of business, whether it’s social, online, or a physical product. To my delight, the women who were selected to attend the Bali Retreat were well-educated, high achievers, and incredibly driven. This was perfect for me since I don’t see the influencer life in my future. I played around with my travel blog for about a year but discovered that I want to build a travel app. While that topic is for another day, at the Bali Retreat, I did intend to shop my idea around to Becky, Vanessa, and the other women. I went in hoping I could get inspiration and feedback about my idea. I got exactly what I was hoping for at the retreat; new ideas, an understanding of travel pain-points, and a test group for when I launch my app prototype.
My advice to you if you’re considering the Bali Retreat would be, ‘don’t limit the possibilities of what you could experience.’ To help you along in your decision-making, I put together 5 reasons why you should attend the Travel Girls Getaways – Bali Blogger Retreat.
1) ACQUIRE BUSINESS TIPS FROM A PROFESSIONAL
The first reason you should attend the Bali Retreat is that you get to hang out with and learn from Becky van Dijk, the founder of We Are Travel Girls (WATG). Becky has no shortage of experience and shares it freely. Some influencers claim to have ‘quit their corporate career,’ when they left their internship or entry-level job. However, Becky REALLY did quit her job after nearly 10 years in the financial industry. She followed her passion of bringing like-minded women together and leveraged her professional skills to build a business. Every bit of her professionalism bleeds into the content she prepares and teaches during the workshops.
2) LEARN FROM A SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR
The second reason to attend the Bali Retreat is that Vanessa Rivers, the co-founder of WATG, shares all of her lessons learned from launching multiple businesses. She is your quintessential serial entrepreneur. Vanessa built Summerlove, an eco-friendly swimwear line, teaches surf lessons, and launched Glitter&Mud. Not to mention, she somehow balances being a new mom.
3) GETAWAY IN BALI
Another reason to go on the Bali Retreat is that you get to be in BALI, duh! Becky meticulously planned day trips to her favorite places around Bali. Becky and her fiance are basically locals since their home-base in in Bali. They have great insight into the lesser-known areas, such as Gitgit Waterfall and the Tresna Bali Cooking School.
But don’t worry, you’ll also see Insta-famous spots such as Danau Buyan Lake Selfie Park, made popular by Alyssa Ramos from My Life’s a Travel Movie. If there’s more you want to see, add on a few days to your trip and read through some of Alyssa’s, Becky’s, Vanessa’s, and We Are Travel Girls blogs for some inspiration.
4) MEET INSPIRING WOMEN
The most important reason to attend the Bali Retreat is that you make AMAZINGLY DEEP friendships in such a short amount of time. This also extends to both Becky and Vanessa who made sure to disconnect (or maybe work when we weren’t around) so that they could connect with us. Additionally, to ensure that we represented the type of community Becky and Vanessa want to build – authentic, driven, passionate woman – Becky chatted with each one of us after we applied.
I already have plans to meet up with two of the gals I met shortly after I return from Bali. I’m positive there will be many more travel discussions with the rest of the group. We all pretty much demanded that Becky and Vanessa implement an Alumni trip where we can all let loose and reconnect.
5) BE PART OF A BLOGGER COMMUNITY
Which brings me to my last reason. You get to let lose, have fun, and be part of a community of women who lift each other up. As the Travel Girls Getaways expands, we’ll connect with other Alumni and build our network with other like-minded women. Everyone knows, it’s all about who you know and I definitely subscribe to an ‘all ships rise’ mentality. Additionally, you’ll make life long memories, such as sunset pool parties and floating on watermelon floats in hidden waterfalls. Plus, the swag from the sponsors is pretty sweet!
